Vision

Future of vertical mobility

About

In 2018, I had the unique opportunity to work on a groundbreaking project with a leading global player in vertical mobility, shaping the future of this industry through a user-centered design approach. As the sole UX designer embedded in an industrial design studio, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team of ID colleagues, electrical engineers, and modelers to envision and prototype physical elevator interfaces that would enhance the user experience a decade into the future.

Our team's approach was rooted in a deep understanding of users' needs and preferences. We conducted extensive trend research, analyzed user surveys, and facilitated workshops to identify key areas for improvement and innovation. These insights informed our design decisions as we explored speculative directions in collaboration with the client, focusing on creating interfaces that were intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing.

A significant aspect of my work involved designing solutions that catered specifically to the needs of users with disabilities. This included rigorous testing with a diverse group of participants, half of whom had varying disabilities, to ensure that our designs were truly inclusive and met the highest accessibility standards. Over multiple iterations, we refined our concepts based on valuable feedback and data collected from these tests.

While I transitioned to a new role in 2021, the impact of our work will soon be realized. I am proud to know that the industrialized results of our collective efforts will be launched on the market by the end of 2024, bringing innovative and accessible elevator interfaces to users worldwide.
